Arteta Praise for ‘Brave’ Martinelli
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reserved special praise for Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli after his side’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.
Martinelli gave the Gunners a 1-0 lead in the first-half, before the Blades hit back with a late equaliser from John Fleck.
It was Martinelli’s 9 th goal for the club since arriving from Ituano in the summer and Arteta has been very impressed with the 18-year old.
““He’s an 18-year-old kid with all the enthusiasm but as well, he’s so brave to make decisions, to threaten the opponent every time,” Arteta said.
“He’s all the time in the middle of the goal, waiting for an opportunity to come. The fact he hasn’t played 90 minutes for a while – since his injury – but is still in the way he went about every single action is impressive.”
