Atlético Mineiro have announced the signing of Liverpool midfielder Allan on a four year contract. He spent last year on loan at Fluminense.
Atlético, nicknamed Galo, are believed to have paid just over £3m for the midfielder who joined Liverpool in 2015.
The Brazilian did not make a senior appearance for the club, however, with work permit issues meaning he spent all of his ‘Pool career out on loan.
He signed from Internacional originally and had spells at SJK in Finland, St. Truiden in Belgium, Hertha Berlin, Apollon Limassol, Eintracht Frankfurt and then Fluminense.
Allan registered the most completed passes in the Brasileirão last season and Fluminense had wanted to keep him.
However, after a protracted transfer saga involving Fluminense and Atlético, the Belo Horizonte club secured the player’s signature.
Atlético have just started pre-season, with the Campeonato Mineiro set to start later this month and the Brasileirão campaign beginning in May.
