Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus says his time is coming to stake his claim as a starter for the club.

Jesus has been frustrated by a lack of opportunities with Sergio Aguero ahead of him in the pecking order.

But the Brazilian senses that his time is coming with Aguero now 31. "I want to play every week, but this is not the reality," Jesus said.

"We have many top players. But I know that Sergio [Aguero] is not younger than me, and I think my time has come. This is my time.

"I just want to play soccer and get better, that's what makes me happy, that's what I love. If I'm not playing soccer, I don't know what to do.

It's always hard when you don't play, but I know I won't always be a starter. I respect the coach's decision and respect my friend Sergio [Aguero] because he is a club legend.

"And I definitely don't think I'm the best in the world, I just want to play and score goals, the rest comes anyway."
