Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino described the feeling as ‘incredible’ as he added another trophy to his cabinet in 2019.

The Brazilian scored the winner in extra-time as the Reds defeated Flamengo 1-0 in Doha in the World Club Cup Final.

In this calendar year, the Brazilian has won the Champions League, Copa América and the World Club Championship.

“It’s an mazing feeling. We won one more title, and it’s the World title too. As a result of what we did in the Champions League, we were here to win, we wanted to win a lot.

“It was not easy to play against Flamengo, a mature team who have been playing well this season. It was not easy, I am very happy for the victory.”

Firmino reserved praise for Flamengo, who have won the Brasileirão and the Copa Libertadores this season under Portuguese boss Jorge Jesus.

“They have done a good job with coach Jorge Jesus, who has mature players. They played toe-to-toe with us. It was a tough game, they behaved well.

“But we wanted to win, and we showed once again that our team is maturing and I’m very happy for the win.”
