Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson says his team will forget about the Premier League and focus on the Club World Cup after going ten points clear at the top of the table.

A 2-0 win over Watford, followed by 2nd placed Leicester drawing at home to Norwich means the Reds’ advantage at the top of the Premier League is into double figures.

The players fly out to Qatar on Sunday to take part in the Club World Cup, where they will play Mexican side Monterrey in the semi-final on Wednesday.

“Now, yes, our focus will be on the World Cup. First, we will study our semi-final opponent well. It will certainly be a completely different match to what we are used to playing and it will not be easy.

“It’s other football schools, other styles, and we have to adapt quickly. The World Cup is an important tournament and we will definitely go there with the goal of returning to England with the title,” he told ESPN Brasil.
