‘They Know What I Want’ Willan Stands Firm in Chelsea Contract Negotiation
Chelsea winger Willian says he wants to sign a new deal with Chelsea, but that the ball is in the club’s court and they know his demands.
The Brazilian’s deal expires this summer and he is free to begin talking to overseas clubs in January. He is having an excellent season so far with the Blues.
“I feel happy here,” the Brazilian said. “I feel happy to play for this club but the situation is not in my hands. It’s in their hands.
“I’m waiting for them. They know what I want, what I want to do, so I wait for them.” It is suspected that Chelsea have offered Willian a 1-year deal given that he is over 30.
It’s thought that Willian wants a longer contract. In the meantime, the player admitted his team were ‘lucky’ to come away with a 2-2 draw in their Champions League game with Valencia on Wednesday.
