Chelsea attacker Nathan has reached a verbal agreement with Atlético Mineiro, where he is currently on loan, and wishes to rescind his Blues contract.

Nathan joined the club in 2015 but has never played for their first team, having had loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem, Amiens, Belenenses and now Atlético Mineiro.

His Chelsea contract expires next summer and the player is currently enjoying a rich vein of form at the Belo Horizonte club.

His current loan expires in December, but Chelsea might extend the loan until June, at which point he will become a free agent.

UOL Esporte reports that talks are ongoing between Nathan’s agent, Atlético and Chelsea in a desire to arrange a deal.

There is a willingness between Atlético and Nathan to extend his deal, but the player’s agent and Chelsea are negotiating.

According to UOL, rescinding the final six months of Nathan’s Chelsea contract is an option, which would free Atlético up to sign him on a free transfer.
