Brazil defender Thiago Silva admits that he and his team are concerned after Brazil drew a third consecutive game against Senegal on Thursday.

The Seleção were held to a 1-1 draw, their third in a row and Silva says it is a concern. “If I say it doesn’t bother me, I’m lying.

“Unfortunately in the last three games we have failed to play our best game. Today I particularly think we had the best chances, but we weren’t clinical.

“It was a very balanced game. In the last pass we lacked something. We have to analyse our game and see what we did wrong.”

Meanwhile, captain Dani Alves suggested that the time difference went some way to explaining the lethargic performance.

“The circumstances are difficult. We have an 11-hour time difference. No excuse, but you pay the price. We have to continue, it is never easy to win.

“We are doing our best, but it is evident that, within the national team, winning gives us peace of mind to keep working.”
