David Luiz Says Defenders Are Still Adapting to VAR
Arsenal defender David Luiz says he and other defenders are still coming to terms with VAR and the changes it has brought to the game.
The Gunners scored a second half equaliser at Old Trafford on Monday evening, with Aubameyang’s goal originally flagged for offside.
After a delay, the decision was revised and the goal was given. Luiz says defenders are still having to adapt to in-game delays.
“Now with VAR you have to adapt, you have to play to the end. You can prepare for that in training. It is not easy, sometimes defenders will stop but you just have to adapt.”
The draw with United puts the Gunners back into the top 4 and Luiz was happy enough with the draw, even though the team wanted to win.
“We tried to get the three points, it wasn’t possible and it’s not going to be easy for teams coming here to take points.”
