West Ham winger Felipe Anderson says he is still working for international recognition having not been called up for the Seleção since March.

Anderson has lots of competition for the wide spots in Tite’s squad and he admits that playing for a club like West Ham makes it more difficult to be noticed.

“It’s not easy to stand out in English football, especially in a team that is not in the group of clubs that traditionally fight for the title,” he told Lance!

“So when that happens you naturally expect to be called. Unfortunately I haven’t had another opportunity, but I will keep trying to help West Ham so that I may be able to return in the future. It’s a big goal, no doubt.”

West Ham have enjoyed a good start to the season and defeated Manchester United at the London Stadium on Sunday.

“We are proud because it is not easy to get to the top of the table in such a difficult league and with teams of such high level and investment as the English Championship.

“I am very happy with everything that is happening, quite confident to see the daily work of the training taking effect on the field, but aware that there is still a lot to do. We have to stay focused and keep scoring at home, which has been critical so far.”
