Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson says he is still short of his peak years after being voted the best goalkeeper in the world at the FIFA Best awards.

Alisson saw off competition from compatriot Ederson and Barcelona goalie Ter Stegen to win the award.

The Reds’ keeper has enjoyed a phenomenal year, winning the Champions League with Liverpool and Copa América with his country.

“We dream about this kind of moment, we set aims, sets short, medium and long term goals. Everything in life has to be like this,” he told SporTV.

“Thank God, I could make many dreams come true when I’m young. I’m only 26 years old, I’m 27 in two weeks. Being the best goalkeeper in the world is an amazing thing.

“I think there’s a lot more to come. A goalie’s career peak is 29, 30, so I hope to keep up the level and do better.”
