Neymar Cites ‘Personal Reasons’ for Wanting PSG Exit
PSG forward Neymar says his reasons for wanting to leave the club this summer were ‘personal’ but that he is focused on the season ahead for the Ligue 1 side.
The Brazilian made his intention to leave clear and Real Madrid and Barcelona made ultimately failed bids for the player.
Speaking after his overhead kick helped seal a Ligue 1 victory over Strasbourg, the player said his reasons for wanting to leave were his own.
“There were some reasons, mostly personal (for wanting to leave). I make it very clear that it was nothing against PSG or fans. But when you don't feel good in one job, you look for another.
“Not for the people in it, and that you are serving, and yes, for personal reasons. I had mine, and I wanted to leave. I made it clear to everyone and did my best, but unfortunately they didn't.
“But this is a page turned. First time I'm talking about it, and it will be the last. From now on, my head is all in Paris.”
