Emery Enthused by Martinelli Progress
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is impressed by the progress of new Brazilian signing Gabriel Martinelli this summer. The 18-year old scored in a friendly against Colorado Rapids last week.
He also made an impressive cameo in a 3-0 win over Fiorentina in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Gunners boss says he is adapting well to life at Arsenal after joining from Ituano this summer.
“We have a big commitment with young players from our own academy and also from our scouts," Emery said. "Martinelli is a young player and at the moment he is training very well with us.
“We want to do one process with him, it started two weeks ago with us training and playing matches. "We are going to work with him on this progress, giving him chances and if he deserves more minutes he will get them.”
Martinelli is also expected to take part in this weekend’s Emirates Cup game against Sylvinho’s Olympique Lyonnais side.
