Willian Doesn’t Rule Out Emotional Corinthians Return in the Future
Chelsea winger Willian refused to rule out an emotional return to his boyhood club Corinthians in a few years’ time.
The player, currently on his holidays after Copa América, was at Arena Corinthians to take in his old side’s 1-0 win over CSA this weekend.
The player came through the academy at the club, before he moved to Europe, where he says he wants to stay for the foreseeable future.
“I arrived at Corinthians when I was nine, I spent my whole youth career here. It is a special goal to have played in the Arena.
“But I am much happier for the victory and the great performance of the team. I have always shown great affection and respect for Corinthians and Corinthians, for the people I know who are in the club.
“Today I do not have that thought (to return to the club), I still think of continuing in Europe, but in the future we never know.”
