Richarlison Grateful for ‘Trust’ of Everton Fans
Everton forward Richarlison says having the trust of the Everton support has been a huge boost during his year at Goodison Park.
The Brazilian left Watford to hook up with former Hornets boss Marco Silva at Everton last summer. Eyebrows were raised at the £50m transfer fee.
Richarlison started well at Watford, but his form and confidence faded badly. The player says the Everton fans have given him their full trust.
“I received some attention in the press because I did not score for a period [at Watford] – but I never lose faith in my ability and always give everything for the jersey," said Richarlison.
“Football is not just about scoring, it is about helping the team. It gives me a big feeling of happiness when I hear Everton supporters singing my name.
“It feels like they trust you and know what you can do. It is an extra boost.” Richarlison is currently on holidays after Brazil’s Copa América triumph.
