Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus says he enlisted the services of a fitness and conditioning coach during last season at the club in a bid to improve.
The Brazilian found himself firmly behind Sergio Aguero in the pecking order and decided to do extra training in a bid for more game time.
“I always looked for progression, I had a difficult time in the City, I did not play much. I talked to my family, they helped me a lot, I looked for a physical coach to help me, he’s helping me a lot.
“I’ve been training a lot in City and the focus is on finishing, always looking to finish more, I see attackers, Aguero scores a lot during the games and that helps me.”
Jesus has recently played on the right-hand side of the Brazil attack with Firmino starting as a number 9. Jesus says he is comfortable in this position.
“I started my career out wide, more on the left than on the right. I went up on the professional, I stayed for a year, I went to the U20 team playing wide again.
“With Cuca at Palmeiras I played as second striker and soon I came forward. I am at the disposal of the coach.”
