‘A Pleasure’ To Work With Klopp, Says Fabinho
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho says that working with Jurgen Klopp has been ‘a pleasure’. Fabinho joined the club from Monaco last summer.
The Reds finished 2 nd in the Premier League, but lifted the Champions League trophy and the Brazilian says Klopp’s infectious character has been a big part of the team’s success.
“These emotions he has in the dugout, even when he speaks to reporters, is not at all false. He's a tall guy, very fond of laughing.
“Sometimes he is in another room and we hear him laughing. He inspires a lot, but he's a guy who was important for my move to Liverpool. It's been a pleasure working with him.”
Fabinho also says Liverpool’s incredible Champions League semi-final comeback, in which they overturned a 3-0 deficit against Barcelona, was due in part to Klopp’s people skills.
“After the game against Barcelona at the Camp Nou, Klopp was happy and praising us: ‘What game you have done, one of the most complete,’ he told us.
“We lost 3-0, but I also think we had a good game that day. I was one of the last players to come out of the locker room.
“He came to me and said: ‘Fabinho, Wijnaldum said that we will qualify, what do you think?’ I said I thought we were going to. And he said: ‘Then there are three of us.’
“The conversation was very optimistic. Afterwards, both for the team, the supporters, the atmosphere, was in our favour. It was really historical.”
