Brazil midfielder Fernandinho has played down the booing of Brazil fans during their opening two games of the Copa América.
The Seleção were booed off at half-time during their 3-0 win over Bolivia in São Paulo and then again in Salvador following their 0-0 draw with Venezuela.
The Manchester City man says it’s all part of modern fandom and he and his players simply need to rise above it.
“The fans always come to the stadium with the best expectation of performance and result. It is part of the show, without the result or performance the fans end up booing.
“We are professionals, we have to work for the next game, change the result and maybe the performance, too. I would not think about the supporters’ mood too much. The player has to work under pressure. We all have. I am focused on qualification.”
Brazil play Peru on Saturday in São Paulo where a win will guarantee their qualification for the quarter-finals in top spot.
