Brazil captain Dani Alves says he and his teammates can expect a different reception when they play Venezuela in Salvador on Tuesday evening.

The Seleção felt the displeasure of the São Paulo crowd despite beating Bolivia 3-0 in the Morumbi on Friday. But Alves, himself a Baiano, says the crowd in his home state will be different.

“Here in São Paulo it is normal (the boos), there are many team’ss fans. It’s tricky to play here. But we showed personality, we made adjustments from the first to the second half.

“It was difficult, they were behind the ball but we adjusted at the end to open the field up and so we created more attacks.

“In Bahia the crowd is different, they miss the team, they give energy that the team takes. It will be livelier than it was here,” he told ESPN Brasil.

Philippe Coutinho scored two second half goals to set Brazil on their way to victory and he was diplomatic about the reaction of the supporters.

“The boos are part of it, the fans want us to play well, so you get that reaction. You have to prepare yourself on the pitch.”
