Marta ‘Has A Chance’ To Play Against Australia
Brazil coach Vadão says that star player Marta ‘has a chance’ of playing in their crunch World Cup game against Australia later today.
She missed the victory over Jamaica due to a thigh injury, but she recently began training with the ball again.
“Does she have a chance? She has a chance,” said Vadão, “She trained and she has a chance. But this will be decided soon.
“We will have a meeting and decide and see how she feels. She has responded well to treatment. Now it depends on a conversation with the whole team, including Marta.”
Goalkeeper Bárbara says she is in no doubt that Marta is in condition to play. “The hunger she has to play is incredible.
“Today in training, she was no different. She is hungry for the ball and feels 100%. I am sure that if the coach decides to play her, she will make the difference.”
