Liverpool Looking to Gazump Watford for João Pedro- Report
According to Globoesporte in Brazil, Liverpool are analysing the situation around 17-year old Fluminense starlet João Pedro, who has signed a pre-contract agreement with Watford.
The Hornets cannot finalise the deal until he turns 18 and, according to Globo, the contract he has signed with Watford could be bought out by another interested club for €20m.
Pedro scored a hat trick in Fluminense’s 4-1 Copa Sudamericana win over Atlético Nacional on Thursday evening, which has heightened interest in the young forward.
Liverpool are said to be interested in the player who turns 18 in September. The agreement between Watford and Fluminense cannot be concluded until September.
However, there is apparently a ‘breach clause’ inserted, which means another interested party would need to pay Watford €20m to break.
Pedro came to the attention of Watford after scoring 38 goals last season in Flu’s U-17 team. He has since scored 6 goals in his last 3 games in the first team.
