Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has resumed full training with his teammates, after missing the last two games of the season with a muscle injury.

The Brazilian aggravated a small thigh tear during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, missing the final two matches of the season.

With a Champions League Final against Spurs on June 1 st to come, Firmino’s return to training offers the Reds a big boost.

A statement on the Liverpool website read, “Roberto Firmino today trained alongside his teammates following a muscle strain that ruled him out of Liverpool’s last three matches.

“The Brazilian took part in the Reds’ first session of their Marbella training camp on Tuesday morning as he works his way back to full fitness.

Firmino has been working with the club’s medical staff on his rehabilitation from the issue and his reintroduction into full team training will be carefully managed under their supervision, with specialised programmes planned over the coming days.”
