Liverpool’s slim hopes of overturning a 3-0 first leg deficit against Barcelona on Tuesday night have been dealt a big blow.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that striker Roberto Firmino will not be available due to a thigh injury.
Firmino was a second half substitute in the 3-0 defeat at Camp Nou last week after struggling with a small muscle tear in hi thigh.
Firmino was not part of the squad for Liverpool’s nail biting 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday evening, with Klopp saying he had "no chance" to play.
The Reds manager confirmed he will play no part of the second leg against Barca at Anfield and is also doubtful for the final game of the season at home to Wolves.
"He will not be ready for Tuesday and the rest [of the season] we will see." Liverpool and Manchester City’s title tussle is confirmed to go to the final match.
