Brazil is well-known to be a production line for new talent. Vinicius (€45 million) and Rodrygo (€45 million) have already been signed by Real Madrid; Éder Militão, who has been playing for FC Porto since 2018, is joining Los Blancos this summer for a staggering €50 million transfer fee.

In their attempt to find “the next Neymar”, European teams have been scouting Brazilian talents effortlessly. It is well-known that buying high-profile players breeds success, but a new development is the high transfer fees being paid directly to Brazilian clubs.

There is no doubt other Brazilian talents will follow suit during the coming transfer window this summer. Let’s have a look at some potential candidates making a move shortly.

Andrey, central midfielder, 21 years, Vasco da Gama

Andrey is one of Vasco da Gama’s best young talents. Despite being only 20 years old, he is already an established first-teamer with a brilliant all-round ability. The Brazilian football player made 50 appearances for Vasco, scoring 6 goals. The young player also played 12 games for Brazil U17, scoring a total of 6 goals.

Lincoln, Centre-Forward, 18 years, Flamengo

Lincoln is considered to be one of the best prospects in Brazil. He was promoted to Flamengo’s first team in 2017, already making his debut as a 16-year-old. After Real Madrid signed Vinícius Júnior, other European clubs started scouting Lincoln, seeing him as a possible future star. He has not scored any official league goal yet and still has got a lot to learn, so it remains to be seen whether he will fulfill his potential.

Léo Santos, Centre-Back, 20 years old, Fluminense/Corinthians

Leonardo Rodrigues dos Santos, known as Léo Santos, is a young Brazilian talent who plays as a centre-back for Fluminense, on loan from Corinthians. He has played 25 official games for Corinthians and 3 for Fluminense while being on a loan spell. Just as they did with Vinicius and then with Rodrygo, Real Madrid is keeping an eye on the development of this young defender, Spanish newspaper Marca reported.

Pedro, Centre-Forward, 21 years old, Fluminense

Pedro Guilherme Abreu dos Santos is the most experienced player in this list, already having played 46 games for Fluminense and scored 15 goals. The centre-forward scored an impressive 1 goal per 90 minutes on average, not bad for a 21-year old. Pedro is able to score all kinds of goals: tap ins, shots from outside the box, headers, it doesn’t matter to him. The young striker was already called up for the Brazil national team in August 2018 but the player had to forfeit because of an injury.

Pedrinho, right winger, 21 years old, Corinthians

Pedro Victor Delmino da Silva, known as Pedrinho, follows the Brazilian tradition of talented dribblers and is seen as one of the country’s most promising players. Pedrinho has provided a series of entertaining performances that have made him a crowd favorite at Corinthians. Ajax Amsterdam has tried to land the player offering €10 million, but Corinthians answered they will only start talking about a transfer when an offer of minimum €50 million is made.

Which one of these five players will be making a move to Europe this summer? Time will tell. But it is more than likely that at least 2 or 3 of the players in this list will be joining a European top team in the coming months.
