Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus says that overcoming adversity is all part and parcel of being a Brazil player. The 21 year old scored twice as a second half substitute in a 3-1 win over Czech Republic in Prague, a game which Brazil trailed.

Jesus’ introduction, along with Everton and David Neres, helped turn the game in Brazil’s favour in the second half, with Roberto Firmino also on the score sheet. Jesus says being a Brazil international means dealing with adversity.

“I believe we played well. It’s not easy when there are lots of changes. We had a tough period, but this is the Seleção, the canary shirt, we have to come through adversity. We were pleased to win the game.”

The goals represented Jesus’ 12 th and 13 th goals for his country and he has made a strong case for inclusion in the starting line-up again, after Roberto Firmino was preferred for games against Panama and Czech Republic.
