Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has admitted that his career has halted in recent months, after losing his place in the City starting line-up.

Jesus and Aguero used to share the centre-forward role at City, but recently Aguero’s form has been such that Jesus has found his minutes limited.

He still has 17 goals this season, but mostly in cup games against lower division opposition. Gabriel is preparing for Brazil’s March friendlies against Panama and Czech Republic.

His starting spot for Brazil is also under scrutiny given the form of Roberto Firmino and Jesus acknowledges that this season has been slow for him.

“I've talked a lot with my family and friends. I had a good time in my life, in my career. I hit things fast, and today I stopped. I'm 21 years old.

“Today I am in reserve at City, I lost my place to the highest scorer in the history of the club, which is Aguero. I had injuries, I'm coming back and now I want to help my club.”
