Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is out of Brazil’s March friendlies against Panama and Czech Republic after picking up an injury.

The 18 year old tore a ligament in his right leg during Madrid’s 4-1 defeat to Ajax in the Champions League, which eliminated them from the competition.

The Spanish club today revealed, “After tests made today to our player Vinicius Jr. by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed a torn ligament of the tibiofibular joint of the right leg.”

It is expected that Vinicius will miss the next 8 weeks at least, which rules him out of Brazil’s friendlies with Panama in Porto and Czech Republic in March.

It was the teenager’s first full international call-up. His replacement is yet to be announced, with Spurs’ Lucas Moura potentially in the frame.
