Neymar Jr. Comics Debuts New Series “Red Card”

Fan The Flame Concepts LLC, an independent comic and graphic novel producer working with Neymar Jr.’s team, today announced the release of a the second original digital comic series from Neymar Jr. Comics, titled Red Card, and the final issue of the first series of Inked: Art Animates Life.

The prequel issue of Red Card and Inked: Art Animates Life #4 and are both being released coinciding with ComicCon Experience (CCXP) this week in São Paulo, Brazil. The event is now one of the three largest comic conventions in the world, with 250,000 fans expected to attend. New York Times-bestselling author and comic and graphic novel creator Jason M. “I am thrilled to have these new issues released in conjunction with the largest comic convention in my home country,” said Neymar Jr. “I hope all of my fans will enjoy these two very unique stories and are inspired by the creative characters and beautiful artwork.”

The plot of Inked continues around Junior, the story’s protagonist drawn in Neymar Jr.’s likeness, who uses magical tattoo ink to bring his body art to life, as he attempts to save his sister, who was kidnapped by a mysterious cartel with supernatural ties.

Red Card’s science-fiction plot begins after a mission into space leads to alien spores – known as Shuttle Dust – being released into the atmosphere. As a result, the majority of the population transforms into mindless, insect-like creatures. The world falls into disarray and those who remain turn to a man named The Zoltan who hosts dangerous, gladiator-style soccer games where players must face off with the Shuttle Dusters. Junior, his star player, attempts to master the games and liberate the camp of survivors.

As part of CCXP festivities, two Neymar Jr. Comics artists will be on hand to greet fans and sell original art prints at the event’s Artists Alley: principal artist Fernando Peniche and short-series artist for Inked Gonzalo Garcia. In addition, Thieres Paim, renowned tattoo artist for Nautica Tattoo, who created the lion on Neymar Jr.’s hand that inspired a major character in Inked, will meet fans at the event on Sun., Dec. 9.

Fans can download the prequel issue of Red Card for free or purchase Inked: Art Animates Life #4 at https://www.neymarjrcomics.com/ or via the Neymar Jr. Comics app, available in either iOS format through the App Store or Android format in the Google Play Store. Comics are available in five languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, and Italian.

A portion of the proceeds from all sales of Neymar Jr. Comics will benefit Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. (INJR), Neymar Jr.’s charitable foundation. Fan the Flame created the project with NR Sports authorization, the company responsible for the image rights management of the athlete Neymar Jr.

Fan the Flame plans to expand the Neymar Jr. Comics franchise through licensing deals with major studios, television, animation, and games. It is currently in active conversations with major brands about partnership opportunities.
