Thiago Silva Issues Rallying Cry Ahead of Manchester United Tie
Paris Saint Germain captain Thiago Silva insists that next week’s Champions League last 16 tie against Manchester United will be a different game, compared the PSG’s 2-1 defeat to Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Thomas Tuchel’s side slumped to defeat despite taking a 1-0 lead in a match watched from the stands by United’s interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Silva admitted that Solskjaer would have been buoyed by what he saw, but insists next week will be a different proposition.
“Do not be worried about us,” he said. “Next Tuesday, in Manchester, it will be another competition, another environment, another atmosphere. In the meantime, we have to work between us to show something else.
“It’s going to be a great clash against Manchester. We will be facing a great team. Manchester United are on a run of nine wins in 10 games. To beat them we will have to be at 110 per cent.” PSG will be missing the injured Neymar for both legs of the tie.
