Willian Unsatisfied With Chelsea Contract Offer, According to Reports in Brazil
UOL Esporte claims that new contract talks with Chelsea winger Willian have stalled due to the length of deal on offer.
Chelsea have a policy of only offering 1 year extensions to players over 30, but the Brazilian is said to want a 3 year deal at least.
Willian’s contract runs out in June 2020 and he has been heavily linked with Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain, who made inquiries during the January transfer window.
PSG wanted a replacement for Neymar, who has been ruled out until April with a foot injury. There were reports that Willian’s entourage travelled to Paris on deadline day in case a deal could be done.
Those reports were refuted by ESPN Brasil journalist Joãa Castelo Branco, but it is thought that PSG made an offer that the player was receptive to.
Chelsea turned down a bid from Barcelona earlier in the month, but all the while, Willian’s deal runs down with little sign of resolution.
