‘I Have Become Stronger Tactically and Physically in England’ Says Richarlison
Everton forward Richarlison says he has become a better player tactically and physically since moving to the Premier League from Brazil. The 21 year old joined Watford in the summer of 2017, before signing for Everton last July.
He told Goal.com that he had to adapt to the speed of the Premier League pretty quickly, “The physical part and the tactical part are both very necessary here. I'm always asked to close down and be intense in training because the games are very intense and difficult.
“In Brazil, you can stay for about five seconds with the ball at your feet to think. Here, when the ball arrives, there are already two markers on top of you, so it's much faster and harder.” Richarlison earned praise for the man marking job he did on Chelsea playmaker Jorginho recently.
“I was very happy to receive these compliments and to help the team. Last year, a lot of people said that my performances fell in the second half of the season, but in fact, I was playing more for the team than for myself. I think it's important to be a team player, to play for the team.”
