Firmino Talks Up Attacking Team Mates
Liverpool’s front 3 of Roberto Firmino, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane is cited as a bedrock of their recent resurgence. Brazilian forward Firmino says the understanding has taken effort to forge- from all members of the team.
The Reds currently top the Premier League table and Firmino told Liverpool.com that comes down to the hard work the players have put in at Melwood. “The development has to be constant, the Premier League is very demanding.
“Your focus has to be 100 per cent and you have to work as hard as possible. You have to be consistent, which is the result of the hard work you put in working towards victories. It’s about effort, hard work day in, day out and the way we organise ourselves in training.
“It’s not just the understanding with Sadio and Mo Salah - it’s with the entire team. We’re in a great place at the moment. We’re maintaining this high level in the big games, and we need to carry on like this. I hope we can sustain it.”
Firmino is seen as something of a foil for Mane and Salah, but the player insists that he retains a love of scoring goals, “I’ve always loved scoring; I love to help my team with assists and goals. It’s what I always go out there with the aim of going to do.
“I love football and will do my best on the pitch. I’m really happy with everything at the moment. As players, we live for goals, victories and assists. We have to be prepared for what is in front of us and always be confident that a goal is coming, but we know you’ve got to work really hard for this to happen.”
