Willian Wants Luiz Chelsea Stay
Chelsea winger Willian hopes that his compatriot and teammate David Luiz can come to an agreement with the club to extend his contract.
The Blues have a policy of only offering 1 year contracts to players over the age of 32, but Luiz is hoping to be able to secure his future for longer.
Teammate Willian watched Luiz set up Ngolo Kante for the winner against Crystal Palace recently and insisted Luiz’s qualities are worth holding onto.
“We have to see if the club will want him. I think they want (him). For me, I want him to stay. David has a lot of quality to do these kind of passes.”
Willian was calmer on the subject of his own future, with Christian Pulisic brought in for 57 million pounds during the January transfer window already.
“I’m fine. No rush about that. We can talk about that in the future, no problem,” he said. His contract runs until June 2020.
