Brazil captain Neymar admits that his country’s failure to win the World Cup last summer is still weighing on his mind.

The Seleção exited at the quarter-final stage in Russia after a 2-1 defeat to Belgium. Neymar did not have his best tournament, having just returned from surgery on his foot.

“I have not forgotten the World Cup yet, no. It's still in my head,” he confessed. “It's something I really wanted to achieve and I ended up coming back from a serious injury and I got over it to be with my teammates.

"It was not to be this time, I hope it is next time. I'm going to dedicate myself in these four years and who knows, maybe we can give Brazil the trophy in Qatar.” Neymar says the Copa remains his ultimate unfulfilled dream.

“My biggest dream has always been to win the World Cup. This is the biggest dream. Of course on the personal side it was to have a son, who I have already blessed with. I think these are my two dreams: having a child and winning the Cup.”
