Patient Fabinho Never Thought About Leaving Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho says he never thought about leaving Liverpool. The Brazilian only joined in the summer for £45m, but his game time was very limited until recently, leading to rumours that he may look to leave the club in January.
However, speaking to UOL Espotre, Fabinho denies that this was ever a possibility. He has started to feature more regularly in the team in recent weeks. “In the last few games I have played more and I believe that I am playing a good role.
“Since football is very intense here, I must always be very well prepared when the opportunity arises.” Fabinho says boss Jurgen Klopp did not have any serious conversations with Fabinho when he was out of the squad.
“He did not give many explanations, but in training he spoke so I would not be discouraged and I concentrated on work, without lowering my head. I knew it was a passing moment. I did not keep moaning and crying in the press.
“I tried to work, because I was aware that opportunities could come. Now I just want to increase my amount of games.” The player says reports that he and the club would part ways was pure speculation.
“I was told there was something in the press, but I never said I'd like to leave Liverpool. I was aware that I needed to have the patience to wait for my moment. I'm happy at Liverpool, there's no reason for me to leave.”
