Marquinhos Unfazed At Prospect of Midfield Berth Against Liverpool
Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos says he is happy to play in central midfield against Liverpool tonight if it helps his team.
The Brazilian is more accustomed to playing at centre half, but PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is considering playing him in midfield for greater defensive security.
Marquinhos says he is happy to play there in tonight’s must win game for the Ligue 1 champions.
“We need to improve the culture, to play for another, together, before and after the matches, the coach points out details, truths.
“When he needs to say something, he knows how to say it. This is a reason why it's working well. We're here to deliver, we are paid for that.
“I don't think it's a matter of 'liking' playing in midfield, you have to do what your coach asks. Some people don't like my performance but what the coach has asked of me, I have done.
“I feel comfortable as a midfielder. I can do it, even though I'm used to playing in defence. The coach knows he can count on me as a midfielder and I am trying to feel more and more comfortable in this position.
“We all need to be aware that after this match there will be no regrets. We have to go very hard on the pitch.”
