‘Brazil Uruguay Is Never A Friendly’ Says Tite
Brazil boss Tite says he was not surprised that Friday evening’s friendly against Uruguay turned into an edgy, physical game. There were 7 yellow cards in total, as Neymar’s second half penalty was enough to give the Seleção victory.
“It's a South American clasico,” said Tite. “There is no friendly game, the level is high with two different styles. We like ball possession, triangulation, infiltration. The opponent sometimes does little. They have dangerous players upfront, with quality, Bentancur has a lot of technical quality.
However, Tite was satisfied that Brazil deserved their victory at Emirates Stadium ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Cameroon in Milton Keynes. The performance was not vintage, but Brazil did enough to win.
“That's the final answer. The team played the whole game and were worth their victory. Most of the time, we dominated and controlled the opponent, which is very difficult because of the sharp players they have.”
