Brazil captain Neymar says the fact that his side’s 1-0 victory over Argentina in Riyadh was a friendly did not diminish his desire to compete.

The Seleção won thanks to a last gasp Miranda header from Neymar’s corner. Neymar says that ten years ago he was playing for cans of soda with his friends in São Paulo and his desire to compete was sizeable then.

Brazil picked up a trophy for winning the match, “When it's worth a trophy, we want to win. Ten years ago I played for soda and gave my life as I give it today. It does not matter if it is a friendly.”

The PSG forward was also enthused by his experience of playing two games in Saudi Arabia during this international break, “It was good to be in the desert. A different culture, an experience that I take to life.”

Neymar did not score during this international break, but set up all three of the goals Brazil did score, “You can rest assured that I will dedicate myself to the next game and promise a goal for you,” he told reporters.
