Brazil coach Tite has elected not to name his starting line-up for tonight’s friendly against Argentina in advance. It is the first time since taking the role in September 2016 that the Seleção has not named his line-up for the press the day before a match.

Brazil play Argentina in a friendly in Riyadh, but the manager has decided to change tack because he is “not comfortable” in doing so for this game. Tite is set to use the game to experiment a little given the lack of competitive consequences.

But he will not give the press, or indeed his opponents, advanced sight of his team sheet, “I do not feel very comfortable because it is not my place, but in some circumstances it is important.

“I do not want, if I do not have the players defined, to give the opponent the opportunity to know the selection, even in this moment in which we do not have a defined team.”
