Gabriel Jesus Happy To Put World Cup Behind Him
Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus says that he is happy to consign an unsatisfactory World Cup campaign to the past after opening the scoring in the Seleção’s 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
Jesus was criticised heavily for failing to score in Russia, as Brazil exited at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Belgium. The City star admits he was upset about how the tournament went.
“Of course I was very [upset]," Jesus told Sportv . "I went from the tournament and stayed at my mother's house, I stayed at home with my family.
"Of course, it was not the Cup of my dreams, I hoped to have done more. Unfortunately, we did not win it, but I hope things will work again from now on. I was happy to play and score tonight.”
