Ederson Praises Alisson Ahead of Saudi Arabia Game
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson says that he sees similarities between himself and Alisson, with the City stopper set to start Thursday’s friendly against Saudi Arabia.
Alisson is the Seleção’s number 1, but Ederson will be given another chance to impress this week, “After training, Tite spoke to me, Alisson and Taffarel, and said that I would play the first game and Alisson the second.
“I am very happy to have an opportunity to play a match with the Brazilian team. I think there's a lot of similarity between the two of us, he's having a very positive start to the season at Liverpool. Here he is one step ahead of me, he played in the World Cup.
“That doesn’t mean I am going to work less. Brazil is well served by goalkeepers, many who have not been to the World Cup are very good. Those who play will do a good job.” Ederson went on to say that he is well suited to Pep Guardiola’s City team.
“I have improved in many ways, mainly in technical terms. The tactics suit me, Pep likes short passes and I have adapted quickly. I grew up a lot as a player and in the Seleção too.
“Facing world-class players in training and games helps a lot. I’m always looking to improve, that's what happened in my first season.”
