Fabinho Delighted With Lucas Moura Brazil Call-Up
Brazil right-back Fabinho says that Lucas Moura is deserving of his call up to the Seleção for friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Argentina. The Spurs winger was called as a replacement for Grêmio attacker Everton.
Fabinho, who himself has just returned to the international fray after a few years without a call, congratulated Moura. “The first six months was not easy here for Lucas, now he hasstarted the season well, as a starter and has high confidence.
“He was voted the player of the month. We played against Tottenham and he was the main player, who tried to do something different to unbalance us. His form is very good, he is a very good perso and very, deserving. I'm happy with his return, he deserves it.”
Fabinho has remodelled himself as a midfielder in recent years, but will be asked to play at right- back for Brazil with Dani Alves injured. The player insists it is no problem and that he discussed the issue with Tite.
“Tite asked me if it would be a problem to count me at right-back or if it could get in my way at my club. I said that being in the squad would only help me, and that I could play both positions. The Seleção was well served by right-backs.
“Tite was always consistent in his calls, the Seleção was in good form, he did not want to change. Now is a time for renewals and opportunities. I was waiting for mine. I hope to be called more often now.”
