Tite Pleased With Brazil Performance After 5-0 Rout of El Salvador
Brazil coach Tite was satisfied with his team’s performance as they thrashed El Salvador 5-0 in Washington on Tuesday evening, despite the standard of the opponents, Brazil still put on a good show in the coach’s eyes.
“The team kept the performance for the whole 90 minutes. We must have had more than 70% possession of the ball, but it is no use to have it for nothing. Their best player was the goalkeeper, he made great saves.
“We have the responsibility to play well against any team, to print an idea and we have managed this even if it is against an inferior opponent. We had a level of attacking situations with possession of ball that translated into a good performance,” he told his post match press conference.
Tite insisted the match showed positive signs despite El Salvador’s lowly footballing status, “The idea of football remains unchanged, independent of the opponent. Keeping ball possession, infiltration, creating chances, is our style.
“The use of players that allow observations in very little time end up being important. What I was most happy about was the resumption of a positive and aggressive team to play, which takes the initiative regardless of the technical level of the opponent. We were constantly under pressure on the ball.”
