Spurs winger Lucas Moura says that his final 7 months at Paris Saint Germain were the worst of his life. The Brazilian was frozen out of the first team squad by then PSG boss and current Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

Following the signing of Neymar, Moura became surplus to requirements and barely played before sealing a £27m move to Tottenham in January. Lucas scored twice in the 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Monday.

““It was very hard, the worst seven months of my life. I came from a very good season, I was second top scorer in the team, only behind Cavani. The following season, I wasn’t even called up.

“I used to go to practice, I wasn’t even in the game. I used to go back home. Anyway, it was very difficult. But I kept working hard, strong. And God gave me the best gift of life, my son. I knew there was something prepared for me.

“When the opportunity to come to Tottenham in January showed up, I was very happy and excited with the opportunity to play in the Premier League, go to a great club. I did not think twice.”
