Manchester United winger Andreas Pereira says he wants to consolidate on a positive tour of the US with United and show manager Jose Mourinho that he belongs at the club.

The Brazilian has taken his opportunities with many of the United squad away at the World Cup, scoring a wonderful free-kick in the defeat to Liverpool on Saturday evening.

“The tour has been great for me and I’m very happy,” the 22 year old tells The National https://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/exclusive-andreas-pereira-on-mourinho-sanchez- fred-and-establishing-himself-at-manchester-united-1.755296. "I’m thankful that Mr Mourinho gave me these opportunities to show what I can do by letting me play so much in these games. I just want to continue showing him and the staff that I can play here at United.

"I’m also happy with the team here and we’re getting better every game. OK, we lost against Liverpool, but pre-season is about getting our fitness, getting to know new players and making sure we’re as well prepared as possible for when the season starts."

Pereira spent last season on loan at Valencia and is bidding to become a part of the first team in Manchester. “At Valencia I was playing a high level every week and I improved a lot. I was under pressure in a good way,” he concluded.
