Barcelona’s new signing Arthur says that his move from Grêmio to the La Liga giants is a dream come true for him and the player wants to live up to his heroes Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
Arthur is a young central midfielder who says he models his game on both players, who are legends of modern football.
“'I’m very happy for this magic day, it's always been a dream of mine to play in Barcelona, I want to make history here and I'm going to work for it, I'm sure I'll learn a lot from my teammates," said the midfielder.
"Xavi and Iniesta are two players that I have always admired, they are references for me. It's an honour to be compared to them. Since I was a kid, I always liked the 'Barcelona style' of playing with the ball.
"I think the comparison does not affect me. I know very well that Iniesta and Xavi are one and the other, and I am Arthur. I have a long road ahead, I have to prove to everyone why I am here. I know they are in another level for everything they've ever done, I have them as a mirror, people who have made history, that's my goal and I'm going to work to get closer to them," said the midfielder.
