Neymar ‘Doesn’t Care’ About Criticism
Brazil forward Neymar says he is unmoved by criticism of his on field behaviour during this World Cup. The PSG man has come under scrutiny for his histrionic reaction to opposition fouls, but he insists it does not bother him.
Neymar scored one and made another as Brazil defeated Mexico 2-0 in the round of 16. After the match, he told the press, “I think it's to try to undermine more than anything else. I do not care much for criticism, sometimes not even for praise.
“This can influence a player’s head. These last two games I did not talk to the press because I did not want controversy, there are a lot of people talking. I just have to play football, help my team, I came to win, not for something else.
“I hope I can improve more and more, I knew that I would need a rhythm to get back to my normal level. Today I feel much better, I am very happy for today's match, I congratulate the whole team for the work, the effort, we are getting better and better.”
