Brazil No One Man Team, Insists Casemiro
Brazil midfielder Casemiro says the Seleção are not a one man team. Neymar attracts most of the attention, but under Tite, Brazil have conceded just 6 goals in 24 games in charge. The Real Madrid man says there is plenty more to this team than the PSG forward.
“In football there is always a player who is talked about more. But he has to have a very good team even if he is, of course, an above average player. It is inevitable to say that our star player is Neymar, but we cannot forget that we have other great players.
“We have a very solid defence, a great goalkeeper. Just like in other years, when it was Ronaldo, Pele, Romário. Football is 11, 14 players. You must have everyone at your disposal playing very well.” Casemiro insisted that the team do not campaign for special treatment for him from the media.
“He's been a superstar for a long time. He knows how to deal with criticism. If Neymar does not play well, they take a shot. If he plays well, he's the best in the world. He is accustomed to that and we know of his quality. He's making a difference.
“In the first game, everyone may have played a regular game, but he has already proved to be better against Serbia, where he played a great match. He knows how to handle it. That's why Neymar is the great player of Brazil.”
