Cafu Picks All Time Brazil XI
In an article for the Guardian newspaper, the captain of Brazil’s 2002 World Cup winning team, Cafu, has picked his all-time Brazil XI.
The ex-Milan and Roma right-back admits that his team would not exactly be set up to defend! “My team is set up in a super offensive formation.
“We might concede a lot of goals, but we would score so many more. In fact, I can guarantee five goals every game!”
Among his picks were fellow 2002 World Cup teammate Roberto Carlos, “A world champion, he played at a high level for many years, with the same quality and intensity whether defending or attacking. He was a giant. I have never seen a shot as powerful as his. He had a missile in his leg!”
Cafu also opted for his long-time international teammate Ronaldo upfront, “You had to pay attention to both feet with Ronaldo as they were as good as each other. He was an example to other players, too.”
Cafu’s full team is; Taffarel; Carlos Alberto, Aldair, Lucio, Roberto Carlos, Falcão, Zico, Rivellino, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Pelé.
