Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is ready to test AC Milan’s resolve with a serious offer for Kaka.

Spanish newspaper AS says Calderon is convinced the Brazilian wants to move to Madrid and will push to agree a fee with the European champs at the end of the Liga season.

Talks with Kaka’s camp have been ongoing since February and it’s reported the midfielder has told Real directors: “I do not want a war with Milan, but if you find an agreement then I will happily move to Madrid.”

Calderon is confident he can strike a deal with Milan in the range of £40 million. The club’s mega TV deal signed earlier this season will fund the bid.

Real will also seek to drive down the cash component by including Emerson in their offer – a player that both Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti and vice-president Adriano Galliani have admitted interests them.

Real directors Pedja Mijatovic and Franco Baldini have maintained contact with Kaka’s camp since the closure of the winter market and have never received any sign that their interest is not welcome.
